Weight control

I haven’t been accountable and reported on my weight loss journey for some time and that’s largely because it’s stalled. However in the last 2 weeks I’ve been much more diligent and have been careful with what I eat and I’ve also been monitoring my weight a little more which tends to motivate and inspire me more.

I’m learning that as I get older, my metabolism seems to have slowed significantly so that any food I do consume has a potential to increase weight far more than it did 20 years ago. I’m learning to control portion size much more too and that this seems key to my weight control. I’m also fascinated by weight differences from the morning to the evening and vice versa. Did you know you can lose almost a kilo overnight?! I’ve also learnt that I can put weight on from too much food very quickly such that I can increase my weight by 3 kgs + within a day or two and yet it can take a week or more to lose that back off again.

So the journey for weight control, food craving control and my food addiction continues but I’m feeling on top of my game or at the very least aware of what food does to my body now.

Smiles and blessings, Amethyst

I SOOOO know what you mean! At this age, it is getting increasingly difficult to take off just the 12 pounds I gained back from the original 52 I lost. Ever since being kicked out of my job back in June, it’s harder and harder to stay motivated, even with working out vigorously at the gym 4-5 times a week, and occasional strolls around the neighborhood thrown in for good measure. And yes, my weight fluctuates from morn to night, day to day so much it drives me almost to tears! Seems that working out just makes me hungrier and crave more! Or maybe I’m just bored and unstructured. Can’t wait to find a job!
