What a journey!

Last night while travelling home from uni, I had a terrifying experience. There wasa massive lightning storm and the first event was a lightning strike on the road beside our bus which literally shook and rattled the bus and deafened everyone on board. It was extremely shocking to say the least and the story didn’t end there.

When I got off at my bus stop to walk the last leg home, I had no coat with me and it was bucketing down and lightning was still raging all around me. I was going to get wet!!! So I began the short walk home, quickly getting soaked to the skin. The rain was so heavy I couldn’t see further than 10 metres in front of me and my road became flooded. I had to wade through what seemed like a raging torrent of water as it rushed to the stream in  the park across from my house. It was quite literally a foot deep and a bit of a struggle to get though.

The lightning was striking all around me, my glasses was hindering me because they were covered in water of course, I had to take my shoes off because they were so wet they fell off and my back pack was literally soaked through and very heavy.

When I finally got home, I found the spare bedroom walls were running with water from the heavy rain (not too much damage from that) and  I just peeled off my literally soaked clothes and stood in the shower to warm myself up again under the hot water. What a journey home!

Smiles and blessings, Amethyst
